What I'm Grateful For

November has been a very busy month for me with travel. I'm currently on my way home from Toronto, Canada after collaborating with Jill Razor. I'm definitely looking forward to slowing down for a week and enjoying Thanksgiving with my family. I'm incredibly grateful for my family and the way they support my work. I'm grateful for the amazing people I get to work with daily in my clinic providing the best dermatological care to our patients. I'm also grateful for you as a follower/subscriber. I hope you find my insights helpful, and I'm always interested in your feedback. Just send me a DM on Instagram or text me at +1-208-203-0767 and of course you can leave comments here on Locals.

This time of year you are getting targeted advertising left and right to get you to spend money. Be conscientious about spending as we have all be impacted by inflation.

I am sharing a few products with you that I personally use or highly recommend. If you are not in need of any of these products, or don't have the money to spend on them, please don't purchase them.

I otherwise hope that each of you have a fantastic holiday and find many things to be grateful for.

Eight Sleep (https://eight-sleep.ioym.net/drdustin)

I just installed Eight Sleep on my bed at home. The product helps me to fall asleep faster and get more restorative rest by helping me to sleep cool. During their Black Friday Sale you can get $250 off their Pod 3 mattress cover, or $500 off the Pod 3 mattress

Jill Razor (https://glnk.io/1jy3/dr-dustin)

Jill Razor is designed to be a part of your skincare routine. Facial shaving can reduce peach fuzz, help your skincare products to penetrate better, and allow makeup to set better on the skin. And no, it won't make the hair grown back thicker or faster!

LMNT Hydration (https://drinklmnt.com/)

LMNT is an electrolyte supplement that can be added to your water bottle. I drink one of these with every workout and I especially love that it does not contain sugar

208SKN (https://208skn.com) are the same products that I recommend in my clinic each day. My patients love them and you can have them delivered directly to your home. My favorite is the anti-aging bundle. If you have acne, or dry skin, you'll find bundles that are right for you too.

Once again I hope you have a fantastic holiday! Stay healthy and happy.

DermaMade is now available at many dermatologist offices. With this video and the corresponding podcast you will learn about the formulation of these products and the reasons it can be a great idea to get your products from your dermatologist.

Early Access: Giving Away Skincare!

I've got too much skincare, so it's time to give some away. I went to Sephora and quizzed shoppers about the basics of skincare to see if they know their skincare.

Early Access: Which Presidents have had skin cancer?

Skin Cancer Rates are rising, but a surprising number of US Presidents have been afflicted with skin cancer. Who has, and who hasn't had skin cancer may surprise you.

The most common skin cancer seen in our presidents has been basal cell carcinoma (BCC), which matches up to the general population as BCC is the most common skin cancer.

Fortunately BCC is rarely life threatening, and often easily treatable.

The best way to prevent skin cancer is to use sunscreen and sun protective clothing. Find my favorite sunscreens here.

Winter Skincare Tips

Winter can be tough on the skin. Cold, dry air, indoor heating, and harsh winds can all contribute to dryness, flakiness, and irritation. But don't worry, with a little extra care and attention, you can keep your skin looking healthy and radiant all winter long. Here are a few tips to help you care for your skin in the winter:

(1) Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize: One of the most important things you can do for your skin in the winter is to keep it well moisturized. Look for a moisturizer that is formulated for your skin type (oily, dry, combination, etc.) and use it regularly, especially after washing your face or taking a shower. If your skin is particularly dry, you may want to consider using a thicker, more emollient moisturizer.

(2) Protect your skin from the cold: When you go outside in the cold, make sure to cover up your skin as much as possible. Wear a hat, scarf, and gloves to protect your face, ears, and hands from the harsh winds. If you have to be outside for an extended period of ...
